The Elgin Hispanic Network offers TWO Scholarship Programs: 

1. The EHN Scholarship application for high school seniors.

Elgin Hispanic Network (EHN) is pleased to announce the annual scholarship recipients for 2022. This year five scholarships will be awarded to local senior high school students of Hispanic descent residing in the city of Elgin. Congratulations to Javier Samaniego, Alejandro Ramirez, Giselle Aguilera, Julissa Navarro, and Ariana Mattos-Cruz on being selected to receive scholarship to continue their education. Normally only three scholarships are awarded but this year there will be five as one scholarship is from the Seigle Family Foundation and the other from the City of Elgin’s Human Relations Committee.

The purpose of the Elgin Hispanic Network (EHN) Scholarship Program is to assist Hispanic high school students in pursuing an undergraduate college education or trade school curriculum. Toward this end, EHN awards up to three $1,500 scholarships to continuing full-time high school students of Hispanic heritage. Award decisions are made by the EHN Board of Directors based on the recommendations of the EHN Scholarship Committee, which consists of volunteers from the community.

Applicants must be:

  • Residents of Elgin, Illinois
  • Be of Hispanic heritage 
  • Enrolled in a non-profit accredited college, university or trade school for the fall  of 2022. 
  • Be a graduating high school senior
  • Commit to attending Elgin Hispanic Network events in June and November of 2022, normally one hour each event from 12:00 - 1:00 pm

EHN Scholarship awards focus on each applicant's: 

  • Contribution to the Hispanic community in Elgin 
  • Community service
  • Leadership and experience
  • Description of career goals 
  • Evidence of academic attainment


2. ADULT SCHOLARSHIP application deadline is in October each year. 

The purpose of the Elgin Hispanic Network (EHN) Adult / Non-Traditional Student Scholarship Program is to assist an adult - over the age 19 and up to age 65 - of Hispanic heritage who is pursuing an undergraduate college education or trade school curriculum. The EHN awards ONE adult with a scholarship of up to $1500 in November to help cover expenses for the current academic year. 

This scholarship application will be posted once again here by September of 2022.
